Our organization began on August 9, 1994 when 10 men gathered to form the Lehigh Valley Gay Men’s Chorus.  Under the initial direction of Robert Roush and Steven Olofson, our feet first touched a stage in a Holiday concert in December of that year, in the Moose Lounge in Allentown, PA.  Under former direction of Beverly Morgan, and Jay Kawarsky, and the current direction of Adam Koch, LVGMC continues to push the envelope in the Valley and surrounding area. From our performance of “Sing For The Cure” for the national conference in Washington, D.C. of the Susan G. Komen Foundation for breast cancer research in 2002 to the organization of a candlelight vigil in honor of Matthew Shepard, to being the first all GLBT group to perform at the MayFair Arts festival, performances at First Night Bethlehem Celebration, F.A.C.T. (Fighting AIDS Continuously Together) Summer Games, Freedom to Marry celebrations, local church services, and our performance of our "Alec Baldwin Doesn't Love Me". LVGMC is making a difference in Lehigh Valley and the US, musically and socially. "Alec Baldwin Doesn't Love Me", our first CD was released in June of 2000 and our second CD, "Slices" was released in the summer of 2004.

We are a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation, and have been named ‘Best Musical Group’ in the Philadelphia Pride Parade. We have performed with Opera Diva Marilyn Horne, the Moravian Wind Ensemble, ACCO (a Chorus Celebrating Women), the Concord Chamber Singers of Bethlehem, PA, the Chamber Choir of the Gay Men’s Chorus of Washington DC, Another Octave (a Connecticut Women's Chorus) and many other choruses and individuals. A special Judy Garland birthday party concert was held in June of 2000 with New York City's Tommy Femia bringing his highly acclaimed 'Judy' to Bethlehem. We performed at GALA 2000 Music Festival, San Jose CA. and the GALA International Conference in Montreal Canada in August of 2004.

The Lehigh Valley Gay Men’s Chorus performs a wide variety of music encompassing many styles, periods, and subjects.

The members of the CHORUS have joined together as a non-profit organization for the purpose of developing a professional quality singing group. The CHORUS is open to all persons, tenor or bass voiced who are gay, lesbian or who are respectful of gay and lesbian issues. Through its performances and other activities, the CHORUS provides educational, cultural and social enrichment for its members and its audience and makes a positive contribution to the community.  (taken from the LVGMC by-laws)

We see our mission is to not only entertain, but to be a supportive and safe environment for gays and lesbians and to be a conduit to initiate discussion and understanding.

Complimentary Tickets

We also want to thank all these organizations for their work with those affected by HIV. We hope that these tickets will help with their mission.

LVGMC is a member of the following organizations...

GALA Choruses, the Gay and Lesbian Association of Choruses, Inc., is the world's only association committed to serving the lesbian and gay choral movement. Our 180 member choruses and 10,000 singers look to us repeatedly for support and leadership. We are dedicated to providing that support and helping our choruses to be strong--artistically and professionally.

We produce choral festivals, educational conferences and publications. We engage in advocacy; provide grants for the commissioning of new choral works; facilitate networking among our members; and serve as a resource center for choruses and individual members.

GALA Choruses serves choruses that range in size from five to 252 singers. Member choruses are located throughout North America, Europe and Australia.
