"ALEC
BALDWIN DOESN'T LOVE ME"
The Lehigh Valley Gay Men's Chorus
Europadisk, Ltd. (LVGMC600)
"Alec Baldwin Doesn't Love Me" is an insightful musical that
looks at what it's like to be gay in a predominately straight world. Cute,
catchy songs with pithy lyrics bring home the struggles of being different
and yet learning not to hate yourself and to not think that you are wrong
for what you feel. The Lehigh Valley Gay Men's Chorus conducted by Dr. J.
A. Kawarsky sounds good in songs written by Kawarsky with lyrics by
Michael Thomas Ford, who also narrates the story. This little show is a
surprise; it's a real delight to listen to and it provides some thoughts
on being gay today. Let's hope it moves from a choral work to a staged
show.
